so i am volunteering to help coach some local kids in the game of hockey. today was our session, and the skill level is in a wide range. it was quite tiring just getting them all fitted and laced up. we were on the ice for about an hour and a half with some drills and a couple of scrimmages. i haven't played in ages, and boy my legs and back are sore. my skates aren't really broken in completely yet, so i have some developing blisters. all in all though, it was a good time. met some more people from the area, and had fun with the kids.

on the work front now that it's 2012, and the caucuses and primaries have officially started, this will be a mad dash til election day in november. i can already feel the stress (and excitement) building. as of now, i think obama's in ok position. he's keeping out of the headlines for the most part. the economy looks like it's turning, and the republican candidates are out trashing each other. the longer they go without a clear front runner and most of them stay in, the better for obama's reelection bid.
